Ensemble TaG Neue Musik Winterthur

The Ensemble TaG Neue Musik Winterthur (violin, viola, violoncello, piano, clarinet, flute and percussion) was founded in 1992 with the purpose of performing contemporary music in Winterthur.
The Ensemble TaG Neue Musik Winterthur is now one of the most renowned ensembles of its kind in Switzerland and conceives and performs approximately five projects a year – these are not only well received by large welcoming audiences, but also attract much attention through the many recordings made by Radio DRS.
In addition to performing the tried and tested chamber music repertoire of the 20th century, the ensemble's musicians also consider contact with today's composers of the utmost importance. This thus leads to the ensemble performing a great number of world premieres. The musicians have a great curiosity for the relatively unknown.
The ensemble additionally considers it an important feature to not only play music but also to educate audiences, be it through discussions after the concert or, first and foremost, through the composition of the programme, which develops references, creates connections and appeals to various different listeners – collaboration with children and young musicians is thus held in very high esteem by the enselmble.
