Biography
Daniela Müller was born in Lucerne. She studied the violin under Alexander van Wijnkoop in Lucerne and Basel and graduated from the University of Music Basel in 1999 with a soloist diploma. Müller went on to study under Igor Ozim in Bern and Thomas Zehetmair at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz. She received a stipend from the Albert Koch Foundation which allowed her to spend a year studying with Jack Glickman at the Guildhall School in London, from where she graduated with an MA in Music Performance. She received the 1st prize at the Schweizerischen Jugendmusikwettbewerb, was a finalist in the Concours Eurovision in Lugano, has recieved various scholarships, including those from the Migros Genossenschaftsbund and the Ernst Göhner Foundation, and received the European Culture Award from the Patria Jeunesse Foundation.
Her solo career has seen her perform with the Sinfonieorchester Basel, the Orchestra della Svizzera Italiana, the Neues Orchester Basel and the Neues Zürcher Orchester. Daniela Müller is a member of the Ensemble Phoenix Basel and concertmistress of the basel sinfonietta. She is a founding member of the Mondrian Ensembles and lives in Basel.
