Roland Moser was born in Bern. He received his musical education in Bern, Freiburg im Breisgau and Cologne. Besides piano and conducting, he also studied composition under Sandor Veress and Wolfgang Fortner. Between 1969 and 1984 he taught theory subjects and contemporary music at Winterthur Conservatory, and since 1984 composition and music theory at 'Musik-Akademie Basel' (Basel Academy of Music). He is a member of the 'Ensemble Neue Horizonte Bern'. He lives with his family in Allschwil, near Basel.
