Musamateur is a project by the Music Pedagogic Association (SMPV) the Swiss association of Musicians (STV) and Musinfo, the databank for Swiss music.
Musamateur lists the works of Swiss composers whose works are particularly suitable for teaching purposes or can be performed by amateur ensembles and choirs. The database allows instant access to this special repertoire and helps the user to find the work most suitable to his/her requirements.
The works have been selected by experts, arranged by level of difficulty and furnished with an explanatory commentary.
The three levels of difficulty I / II / III refer to the number of years already taught: I (1 – 4 years) / II (5 – 7 years) / III (8 – 10 years)Precise details can be found in the commentaries.
The commentaries give particulars of the style and type of notation of the works, characteristics and idiosyncracies, address pedagogical questions and aims or give details of the level of difficulty.
Search functions enable the search for composers, instruments and level of difficulty.
