Biography
Christoph Jäggin studied at the Winterthur Conservatory (Switzerland) and at the Academy of Music and Visual Arts in Vienna (1979 concert diploma with award). His most important teachers were Karl Scheit (guitar) and Hermann Siegenthaler (music pedagogy).
He performed at concerts mainly as a soloist and chamber musician in most European countries, in Russia, in South America, the Far and Near East, appeared as a guest in many radio and television studios and produced various records and compact discs. He had been awarded several prizes for his artistic work.
There is a long list of those female and male composers who dedicated their work to his art of interpretation for the Old and the New Music. There are famous names such as Frangiz Ali-zade, NiccolÚ Castiglioni, Klaus Huber, Rudolf Kelterborn, Hans Ulrich Lehmann, Faraj Karajev, Yori-Aki Matsudara, Graciela ParaskevaÌdis, Robert Suter, Jacques Wildberger, Christian Wolff and Jürg Wyttenbach, to mention only those who may have left the deepest marks in his way of musical thinking and acting.
Since 1979 Christoph Jäggin has been teaching guitar, chamber music and didactics at the Winterthur Music Academy.
