Avalon Trio (ehemalig)

Avalon Trio (ehemalig)

In 1999 the clarinettist Rita Karin (whose position was filled by Fabio di Casola in 2004), the cellist Luzius Gartmann and the pianist Hans Joerg Fink founded a piano trio with a difference and have since been delighted with the particular versatility of this combination of instruments. There is an abundance of rarely played works by little known composers yet to be discovered, the new-music repertoire is manifold and varied and, thanks to the ensembles own initiative, constantly on the increase.
The Avalon Trio interprets contemporary music with as much enthusiasm and success as its classic and romantic repertoires and has already performed several world premieres.
The press's appreciation of the musical sensibility and the precision and transparence of the interplay bears witness to the value of the trios persistent chamber-musical work.
In addition to concert evenings in Switzerland the ensemble has also performed in Milan and Berlin as well as at various international music festivals including the '2 days and 2 nights of modern music' festival in Odessa and the festival 'Contrasts' in Lemberg. Other highlights in the short history of the ensemble worthy of mention include concerts in the Kiev Philharmony and the radio studios in Zurich (with a live recording by 'Radio DRS') and a documentation on Swiss television.
