Biography
* 27. 06. 1945.

Following his studies at the conservatories of Fribourg (piano, organ, music theory, orchestration), Geneva (organ improvisation) and Berne (orchestration with Luc Balmer) he went to Paris to benefit as an organist from the teachings of Jean Langlais and as a composer from the advices of Henri Dutilleux.
His activities as a performer lead him to play in Switzerland and abroad: in Marmoutier in France (in celebration of the 25th anniversary of the restoration of the Silbermann organ at the collegiate church), at the Notre Dame in Paris and the Osaka Symphony Hall. In 2001 he was invited by the Fédération Francophone des Amis de l'Orgue (the French-speaking Association for Friends of the Organ) to represent Switzerland at the congress in Alsace, where he gave a recital on the historic organ of Bischoffsheim. He has recorded several CDs as a soloist and together with ensembles.
As a composer he received the jury prize at the composers competition organised by canton Fribourg in celebration of the 500th anniversary of its joining the Swiss Confederation. He received commissions from Radio Suisse Romande, the Swiss Association of Musicians and the Art Foundation of the Swiss Economy, by Jeunesses musicales, by the Festival des Musiques Sacrées of Fribourg and other institutions and individuals.
A great number of his works for symphony orchestra, chamber orchestra, small ensembles and organ have been recorded by the RSR (Radio Suisse Romande) or are published on CD.
