Priska Walss studied at the conservatory in Zurich and received her teacher's diploma for trombone and large brass instruments. Walss plays in various classical formations including the brass quartets 'Brasserie' and 'Trombaci' and is also a member of the Grison Chamber Philharmonic. In addition she can be found improvising as a trombonist and alphorn player, solo or in permanent ensembles like the 'Duo frappant' together with Gabriela Friedli, 'Echo vom Zürichhorn' with Nick Gutersohn and Robert Morgenthaler and 'Zigerhörnli' with Nick Gutersohn and Reto Senn. Priska Walss has been a significant figure in the discovery and establishment of the alphorn in experimental music within the framework of her numerous engagements over the past two decades.
She lives in Wetzikon and Zurich.
